Approximately 6,500 students visit Foothill Horizons Outdoor School each year.  Located in Sonora, CA and operated by the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE), Foothill Horizons Outdoor School is designed to accommodate upper elementary students in an outdoor education program.  During their week-long stay, students participate in a curriculum which includes classes in ecology, astronomy, wildlife conservation, bird adoptions, nocturnal animals and Me-Wuk Indian culture.  For some students, Foothill Horizons offers the only opportunity they have every had to experience nature firsthand.
